Aaron Patterson to perform organ recital at Trinity Solebury

Friends of Music and the Delaware Valley Music Club presents Aaron Patterson, organist, in recital at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 28, at Trinity Episcopal Church, Solebury.

The recital will feature organ works by Dietrich Buxtehude, Johann Sebastian Bach, Dorothy Papadakos, and John Weaver. The organ at Trinity Church was built by Martin Pasi & Associates and installed in 2006. It is a mechanical action instrument of 29 stops, 33 ranks.

Patterson, was awarded the Pogorzelski-Yankee Memorial Scholarship as a freshman in 2018, recently earned his Bachelor of Music degree as the Charles and Judith Freyer Annual Fellow at the Curtis Institute of Music, where he studied organ performance with Alan Morrison. He also received a certificate in harpsichord performance, studying with Leon Schelhase.

Patterson is the proud recipient of a Kovner Fellowship at the Juilliard School, where he is pursuing an Master of Music degree in organ performance under the tutelage of Paul Jacobs.

In addition to his academic accomplishments, Patterson won first place in the 2017 Albert Schweitzer Organ Competition and the 2016 West Chester University International Organ Competition. Performance venues include the Wanamaker Grand Court, where he is an assistant organist; Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J.; and the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. He is currently assistant organist at Tenth Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia.

Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for ages 18 and under.
