Yes You Can 5K benefits Pennsbury School District

Posted

The Yes You Can 5K is preparing for its fifth annual event on April 28. The theme of this 5K is “Building Confidence. Building Community.”

The event, which begins at 9 a.m. at Pennsbury Middle School, benefits the entire Pennsbury School District. All runners mark a school affiliation upon registration and the funds are evenly distributed to schools based on runner registration. In hopes of benefiting different aspects of the community, a donation is also made to the Pennsbury Kids Charity.

This year, a food drive to benefit the Manor Food Pantry will be held at the bib pickup. In addition, a donation was made to the two schools that were home to victims of a local tragedy that occurred in March.

The family-friendly event has Pennsbury School District students kicking off the run with the Star Spangled Banner, the Pennsbury High School cheerleaders along the route to encourage runners and the Falcon Idol 2023 at the 1-mile mark singing and playing live music.

The chip-timed event has an announced finish so everyone feels like a champion crossing the finish line.
