Williams Township fire death ruled accidental; victim identified

The Northampton County Coroner’s Office today released the identity of a man who was discovered deceased in a house fire in Williams Township on Monday.

Coroner Zachary R. Lysek identified the man as Donald C. Fey Jr., 64, of Williams Township, and said his cause of death was carbon monoxide toxicity and smoke inhalation, and the manner of death was ruled accidental.

Fey was found inside the house in the 1500 block of Raubsville Road, along with a dead cat, Pennsylvania State Police said. Troopers were dispatched to the house at approximately 8:21 a.m. July 10.

The PSP Belfast Criminal Investigation Unit is the lead agency in the fire investigation. Assisting in this case is: Northampton County Coroner, Troop M Forensic Services Unit, Troop M Fire Marshal, Williams Township Fire Department, Easton Emergency Squad, Lower Saucon Township Fire Department, and the Palisades Regional Fire Department.

The case remains under investigation.
