Volunteer orientation sessions return to Pearl S. Buck International

Posted

Monthly volunteer orientations are set to begin again at Pearl S. Buck International.

Orientation will be held at Pearl S. Buck International, 520 Dublin Road, Perkasie, 1 p.m. Thursday, March 21.

The volunteer orientation session includes learning more about the mission of the organization, touring the National Historic Landmark property, and discovering how individuals can share their special talents with the nonprofit organization.

Volunteers at Pearl S. Buck International choose from tasks as varied as serving as a tour docent or facilitator for visitors to the National Historic Landmark Pearl S. Buck House museum, helping with the archival collection, working in the International Gift Shop, processing letters from sponsored children, or assisting with special events such as the annual Holiday Craft Show or Festival of Trees. Volunteers are also invited to bring their special talents to the organization.

At this time, Pearl S. Buck International is most in need of tour facilitators and docents as well as volunteers to assist with curatorial work, but if individuals discover a passion for Pearl S. Buck International’s work and mission, the nonprofit will find a place for them.
