Viano String Quartet to perform in Solebury and Buckingham

Posted

The prestigious Viano Quartet, Colburn Conservatory’s ensemble-in-residence, will perform at Trinity Episcopal Church in Solebury, at 2 p.m. Dec. 7, at Delaware Valley Music Club’s Holiday Concert for its members.

Earlier in the day, the Quartet will visit Buckingham Friends School to present a special music program for the young students.

The Delaware Valley Music Club arranges this dual performance each year in December as part of its Marie Paxson outreach program to help young people become familiar with classical music and encourage any talented youngsters who aspire to become musicians themselves.

The “refreshing” young Viano Quartet members are a prime example of the Colburn Artists program, which provides guidance and support to young musicians starting their professional careers. Violinists Lucy Wang and Hao Zhou, violist Aiden Kane, and cellist Tate Zawadiuk became Coburn’s ensemble-in-residence in 2019.

The Viano Quartet has recently won praise for its performances throughout the country, including first prize at the 2019 Banff International String quartet competition. The Quartet has now joined the roster of Opus 3 Artists, which manages the careers and tours of many well-known musicians.

Admission for Delaware Valley Music Club members is at no charge; their guests or the general public may attend for a $15 fee.

Trinity Episcopal Church is located at 6587 Upper York Road in Solebury. Following the Quartet’s performance, refreshments will be served.
