The Wine & Art Trail exhibition set to open at Freeman Hall

Posted

Visit Bucks County, Bucks County’s tourism association, has collaborated with the Arts and Cultural Council of Bucks County to promote the area’s wineries in the Bucks County Wine & Art Trail.

The organizers invited area artists to make paintings, drawings, or sculptures of the wineries involved in the project. Eighty-one artists responded to the invitation with a display of talent to make the county proud. Each of the wineries showcases two of the original artworks on large outdoor panels.

Visitors to the Trail apply online for a passport. They use an online map of the Bucks wineries to tour as many of the seven wineries as they like. Those who digitally check-in at three or more of the wineries receive a set of limited-edition fine art note cards, featuring works created by Wine & Art Trail artists, and they are entered into a drawing to win one of the enlarged prints.

The Arts and Cultural Council will showcase artwork created in the project at Freeman Hall beginning Sept. 9. The expansive Wine & Art Trail Exhibition will have work by 60 of the participating artists, representing seven of the area wineries. Visitors to the exhibition can see over 100 artworks documenting and celebrating local wineries that practice the art and science of making wine. Many of the works will be available for sale.

During the weekend of the Doylestown Arts Festival, Sept. 9-10, the show will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; tasting portions of local wines will be poured. On the next three Saturdays and Sundays, the show will be open from noon until 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1 will be the last day. The A&C invites the public to a free closing reception and wine tastings at Freeman Hall featuring the local wines from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 29.

Freeman Hall is located at 181 E. Court St. in Doylestown, an easy walk to the Arts Festival, with parking on-site and conveniently nearby. Find more at bucksarts.org.
