Stover Mill Gallery shows “Double Take” art exhibition

Posted

Sue Ann Rainey presents a “Double Take” art exhibition of watercolors and photographs at Stover Mill Gallery, running from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through July 30.

Rainey paints en plein air watercolors of local towns, farms and scenes along the Delaware River and beyond. Buildings, the river, farms and landscapes are popular subjects as she captures the light and color of the scenes.

Rainey also captures the area’s many interesting sights with her camera as she scouts out painting locations. Some of the photographic images are then manipulated and “montaged” to form other-worldly images that make viewers take a double take. She has been photographing the area throughout her life as a local from Carversville, now living in Tinicum.

Admission to Stover Mill Gallery, 852 River Road, Erwinna, is free and handicapped accessible. The gallery can be reached by phone during exhibit hours at 610-294-9420.
