St. Andrews parishioners aid local students

Posted

Twenty-six area students have gone back to school this year with new backpacks, school supplies and gift cards ranging from $25 to $50, thanks to the efforts of parishioners of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Yardley.

The church’s Outreach and Justice Committee coordinated the collection of backpacks, supplies and gift cards that were distributed by the Bucks County Housing Group. Among those benefiting were residents of the BCHG’s Robert Morris Apartments in Morrisville.

The church effort was chaired by parishioners Cindy Vallier and Holly Gaenzle, both of Yardley. Accepting the donations were Erik Clare and Nicholas Parsons of BCHG.

The Yardley church has been doing this project for at least 20 years.
