Solebury’s Columbus Oak Tree Tiles now for sale

Posted

Solebury Township Parks & Recreation’s newly designed Columbus Oak Tree Tiles have arrived and are available for purchase at the Solebury Township Municipal Building, while supplies last.

Each tile is unique in its size, color and material, and all were individually hand-crafted and produced by artist Karen Singer at her Tileworks shop in Philadelphia.

The tile represents the old Columbus Oak tree, which stood for over 500 years along Aquetong Road in Solebury Township in the shadow of Bowman’s Tower.

Each 7-inch by 7-inch green glazed tile is fired from white clay and measures one-half inch thick. The tile features the Columbus Oak tree with a raised relief acorn at the very top, an oak leaf imprint at each corner, and the words Solebury Township surrounding the tree.

Stop by the township office at 3092 North Sugan Road in Solebury, to purchase your limited-edition tile, while supplies last. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

The introductory special price of $48 will be good until July 31. All proceeds benefit the Solebury Township Parks and Recreation Department’s Art in the Parks Program.
