Solebury Friends Meeting slates Autumn Open House

Posted

Have you ever driven past the stone Meetinghouse and graveyard on Sugan Road in Solebury and wondered about them?

Solebury Friends’ Autumn Open House, at 2680 Sugan Road, New Hope (Solebury Township), is your chance to learn more.

All are welcome to the Autumn Open House, which will begin at 11 a.m., after Meeting for Worship, and continue until 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22 (rain date: Oct. 29). The day will offer activities for children and adults alike.

Children can enjoy a Pumpkin Hunt on the lovely grounds behind the Meetinghouse, and afterward they can decorate their pumpkins to take home. Everyone can take guided tours of the historic graveyard. Take a journey through time as stories of local history from centuries past come to life. John Beacher will provide live music.

Bring a brown bag lunch to enjoy in this beautiful setting. The Friends will provide cider, coffee, donuts and desserts. It is an ideal opportunity to connect with fellow community members and forge new friendships.

Solebury Friends Meeting upholds a longstanding tradition of welcome and inclusivity. All are warmly welcomed to attend the Autumn Open House, and to attend Meeting for Worship from 10 to 11 a.m., regardless of background or belief. The Friends look forward to fostering connections in the community and sharing the spirit of unity that defines Quaker belief.
