Sleepy Hollow Haunted Acres returns for spooky season

Posted

Cooler temperatures, pumpkin spice, the crunch of leaves underfoot, fall is finally in the air, and that means Halloween is just around the corner.

It’s time to celebrate the Halloween season at Sleepy Hollow Haunted Acres in Newtown. It’s located on a 200-acre family farm and surrounded by dark woods and fields of corn and pumpkins.

Three unique attractions make this a memorable night for Halloween enthusiasts of all ages.

The Haunted Hayride transports riders to different times and dimensions featuring all new scenes and unforgettable terrors.

The field includes a terrifying corn maze to challenge even the bravest of heart. The area was once a village in the mid 1800s that a small group of outcasts and outlaws made their home. Strange ceremonies were held in this cursed field.

The award-winning haunted House in the Hollow will unsettle even the bravest souls for years to come. Built by the Malfate family in the 1880s the mansion became haunted after tragedy struck the family. Subsequent owners have tried to operate various enterprises in the large mansion only to be met by calamity from evil forces of the past. Over the years Malfate Manor was open as a hotel, funeral parlor, orphanage – and most notoriously an asylum.

If you survive, you can gather with your family and friends by the safety and warmth of the bonfires. Refreshments are available along with live music most nights.

This year Sleepy Hollow will also open its brand new and improved concession stand.

Last year, Sleepy Hollow sold a limited number of tickets for each half hour time-slot to reduce long wait times. This was a success and will be implemented this year as well. Ordering tickets online is the only way to guarantee entry. Once tickets for a time-slot are sold out, they may not be available at the ticket booth.

You can also keep up with the scares on social media.

Discounted passes/codes are also available at some area Philly Pretzel Factory locations; visit https://sleepyhollowhayride.com for a list of locations. Also select nights, Sleepy Hollow will host the Philly Pretzel Factory Truck. Grab a soft pretzel while you visit the Haunted Acres.
