Sean Mount exhibition opens at SFA Gallery

Posted

SFA Gallery will present new paintings by Lambertville, N.J., artist Sean Mount during the months of November and December.

A celebration is planned for the artist on opening night, Saturday, Nov. 4, from 5 to 8 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. A Solebury native, Mount spent 10 years in New York City working in film and television as a scenic artist, winning three Art Director’s Guild Awards for his work on “MR. ROBOT” and “The Night Of.”

Since then, he has been painting his intricate works, following his dream of being a full-time artist. A self-taught oil and watercolor painter, Mount is also an accomplished naturalist who is concerned with the story of the local environment.

Known for his dense landscapes of the winter woods, portraits of individual apple varieties, and life-like depictions of the human form, Mount’s large-scale work is recognized as continuing and updating the rich tradition of New Hope School Impressionism.

He lives in Lambertville with his wife, Allison Richard, and their baby girl Marigold.

Schmidtberger Fine Art Gallery is located at 10 Bridge St., Suite 7, Frenchtown, N.J. Call 908-268-1700 for information.
