On Saturday, April 22, the Doylestown men's rugby team advanced to the third and final round of the Lentz Cup.

The Dragons qualified for the championship round by defeating the Phoenixville Men's Rugby Club in Phoenixville. The final score was 55-22. It was a very tough match between two strong teams, where the score line does not indicate the intensity of the match.

Try scorers for Doylestown were Brian Stella (three), Jesse Capriotti (two), Max Campo (one), John Nyongesa (one), Eric French (one) and Alex Willouer (one). Conversions were kicked by Fionn O’Toole (three) and French (two). Willouer was Man of the Match.

The Doylestown Rugby Academy High School boys team traveled to Cumberland Valley on Sunday, April 23 for a league match. The Dragons fell to the host team, 12-60.

Try scorers for Doylestown were Gavin Koch (one) and Cade Aivazian (one). Bailey O’Malley kicked one conversion.

Doylestown will play St. Joe’s Prep on Sunday, April 30, in an away league match.

The Doylestown Rugby Academy High School girls team defeated Conestoga 82-27 in a home match on April 23.

Sydney Haddon and Reaghan King led the team with three tries each. Kendall Maday, Sydney Worthington, and Nolah Flynn each had two tries. Maddie Doyle and Siena Accardi added one try each to the scoring. Haddon made two conversions and Flynn made four conversions.

Doylestown will play Downingtown in an away match on April 30.

The Doylestown Rugby Academy middle school girls team tied Morris 32-32 in a very exciting home match on April 23. Kayla Robinson led the scoring with three tries. MJ Cashman, Ashley Kelly, and Leah Cipollo each scored one try. Cipollo made one conversion.

The Doylestown Rugby Academy junior boys team defeated Downingtown on Sunday, April 23 in an away league match. The Dragons led at halftime, 38-15. The final score was 65-12.

Try scorers for Doylestown were: Gavin Graham (two), Aaron Kelly (two), Marco Burns (two), Alex Stukis (one), Joey Craig (one), Mason Darrows (one), Louie Cipollo (one) and Ben Kix (one). Craig kicked five conversions.

The next league match will be played against Media at the home pitch (Maennerchor Field, 3650 Cold Spring Creamery Road, Doylestown) on April 30.

In an away league match on April 23, the Doylestown Rugby Academy Youth boys team defeated Downingtown. This was the Dragons’ third league match of the season, and they won in a shutout, 57-0. At halftime, Doylestown led 40-0.

Try scorers for Doylestown were: Cross Cervellero (four), Hunter Pulford (three), Billy Stahl (one) and Roman Wade (one). Conor Cassidy kicked six conversions.

The next league match will be played against Media at the home pitch, Maennerchor Field, on April 30.
