Posted

The Riverside Symphonia presents an intimate evening showcasing the vocal and musical virtuosity of Metropolitan Opera soprano Angela Brown and the Riverside Symphonia Chamber Players.

“An Evening with Angela Brown: From Aida to American Spirituals” will take place at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at the First Presbyterian Church in Lambertville, N.J.

Vocal and instrumental works by some of the most famous opera composers, such as Giuseppe Verdi and Giacomo Puccini, will be paired with a “charming” set of songs by William Grant Still, “dreamy and bluesy” selections from Danielpour’s poetic opera “Margaret Garner” and a “soulful” set of popular American Spirituals.

“We are ecstatic to have such a powerful and talented performer such as Angela Brown to usher in our 34th year of music in Lambertville; the place where our commitment to providing live orchestral music of the highest quality all started and continues to this day,” said Riverside Symphonia Board Chairman Paul Kuhl.

“After the enthusiastic response to our previous season, our audience can rest assured that the unbridled magic of music will be on full display on Oct. 14 and throughout the remainder of the 34th Season.”

Tickets can be ordered online or by phone through Oct. 13. Tickets are $15 for students and $40/$60 for adults. Visit the Symphonia’s website, www.riversidesymphonia.org, for information or call the Symphonia at 609-397-7300. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the gate the evening of the concert while quantities last.
