Except for ruffling through much appreciated pages of the Herald, I’d almost forgotten the joys of leisurely reading through an actual paper paper. Neither the Times nor the Wall Street Journal consider Brownsburg Road worthy of delivery service.
But, this morning, while prepping the fireplace with paper, I came across a June travel section of the NY Times.
I climbed back into bed and enjoyed an hour of daydreaming and planning an “urban ramble” in New York and a flaneurs’s stroll in Paris. The daily news these days is hard to read. News that truncated/small-screen laptops provide or, worse yet, alogorythms distill, give us little depth and no delightful, unexpected respite from the world’s woes.
