The ninth annual Points of View Art Show and Sale featuring five local artists will be presented Thursday, Aug. 24 through Monday, Aug. 28.

This year, the show will be located at The Saw Mill building on the grounds of the Prallsville Mills complex, 33 Risler St., Stockton, N.J. Showcasing their art will be Jeanne Chesterton, Ilene Rubin, Sandy Askey-Adams, Susan Gilli and Christine Seo. All the art is for sale.

Show hours are noon to 5 p.m. Aug. 24-28, with a reception from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25.

Chesterton and Rubin have been creating the Points of View Art Show together in the Bucks County area since 2014.

The artworks of Chesterton and Rubin, this year along with Askey-Adams, Gilli and Seo, complement each other while individually they are vastly different. All are well-known, award-winning artists who bring a unique voice and interpretation to the visual art community. It’s a unique blend with a wide price range.

Chesterton is a still life artist painting in the realist tradition. An award-winning artist, she has exhibited in over 250 shows, including Phillips Mill, The Philadelphia Sketch Club and The Ellarslie Open at the Trenton City Museum. Her paintings can be found in the permanent collections of Ellarslie, the Trenton City Museum, Countryside Framing and Gallery, and many private collections.

Rubin is a self-taught artist who works in oils, pastels, pencils and watercolor in a painterly and representational style. She received the Ty Hodanish award for Oil Painting in the Artsbridge 2021 Member Art Show and was given an award in the 34th annual Bucks Fever Juried Art Exhibition “Celebrating Bucks County Artists.” She has also received awards at The Philadelphia Sketch Club, Doylestown Art League, and Tinicum Arts Festival. She is a published author of two novels.

For Askey-Adams, the interpretation of nature and its beauty, spirit and tranquility continue to be the focus of her work whether painting with soft pastels, oils, watercolors or acrylics. She is a national, regional and local award-winning and published artist, and holds a Signature Membership in the Pastel Society of America and the Pastel Society of Maryland.

Gilli works in acrylics, oil and cold wax in an abstract style. She now paints in a more abstract or creative style, using a catalyst (or what’s known as a cake scraper) when painting in oil and cold wax. It gives her the ability to layer the paint into the canvas and then “excavate” the shapes and forms underneath. She is mostly inspired by the use of color and organic shapes.

Seo was born and raised in Seoul and was a sought-after art instructor at the Fine Arts Academy she founded while in Korea. While she focuses her oil and watercolor paintings on equine art, Seo also explores the intersectionality of Korean culture, portraiture and nature. Her work has been awarded by the Arts Bridge, Catharine L. Wolfe Art Club, Morris Museum, Paul/Matthews, West Windsor Arts Council, and Winsor & Newton Company among others.
