Picnic in the Park Series: Our View of Summers Past

Posted

This is the kickoff of our "Picnic in the Park" series of a monthly summer program for all ages to enjoy a little history, have a relaxing evening playing games, enjoy light refreshments or bring your own picnic (if desired). Spend a summer evening - Victorian style! Croquet, Badminton, and other activities will highlight how people in the past spent their leisure time. Learn about how Burlington Island has been an important part of local history and recreation. Sit along the banks of the Delware River, relax, and enjoy!

This family-oriented program will include a short introduction to the games people played, and provides participants with the opportunity to try their hand at experiencing Victorian leisure activities. A welcome to guests will open the evening events and then let the games begin!

Members of The Friends of Burlington Island will be on site with an information table related to Burlington Island history and past.

Located on the River Park Lawn of the Grundy Museum on Friday, May 24, 2023 from 6:30pm - 8:30pm.

This is a FREE family program. Come dressed in your Victorian inspired summer attire. Light refreshments will be provided or bring your own picnic snacks. Please, no alcohol.
