Northampton Township salutes military veterans and first responders

Posted

The Northampton Township Veterans Advisory Commission’s 2022 Hometown Heroes Wreath Laying Ceremony honored first responders and military laid to rest at the Union Cemetery in Richboro. The event took place Dec. 3, in a heavy rainfall with close to 100 people in attendance.

Color guard and firing squad were provided by the Marine Corps League Patriot Detachment 1230, Master of Ceremonies was Kristin Reilly, invocation was by Chaplain Doug Fulford and the keynote speaker was Northampton Police Chief Steve LeCompte.

The wreaths were placed at the headstones marked with an American flag. The Veterans Advisory Commission, Northampton Township supervisors and public works employees Paul Dukes and Brett Prazych helped make the event possible under bad weather conditions.
