Newtown Historic Association slates self-guided garden tour

Posted

The Newtown Historic Association (NHA) is hosting a self-guided Garden Tour of Newtown Borough and Newtown Township on Saturday June 24.

The tour will wind through the streets of Newtown Borough and into parts of the Township.

Registration starts at 8:30 a.m., and the tour will commence at 9 a.m. Meet in the rear garden of the NHA headquarters, the Half Moon Inn, 105 Court St., Newtown. Breakfast snacks will be available for all patrons. There are 15 garden stops, and the tour will cover about three miles. Some driving is required.

Tickets are $15, and the proceeds will go toward those obligations, and in particular, the maintenance and improvements needed for the Boone Garden. Owned by the NHA, Boone Garden is on Court Street directly across from the Half-moon Inn. It is a featured garden on the tour.

During the tour, meet the gardeners who created them. For information, call Mary Jo Garner at 215-858-0939 or Keyna Crawford at 267-679-9287, or visit https://www.newtownhistoric.org/event/garden-walk-in-newtown-borough/.
