Posted

Shira Walinsky, an artist, photographer, filmmaker, and educator, has been selected as this year’s Artist in Residence at Glen Foerd.

The public park and nonprofit cultural site is located along the Delaware River in Philadelphia, just outside Bucks County.

Glen Foerd’s Artists in Residence program was established in 2014 in partnership with the Center for Emerging Visual Artists. Today, Glen Foerd partners with Past Present Projects to offer its annual program to regional artists.

Walinsky, a prominent Philadelphia muralist, was selected from many highly talented applicants and will receive a stipend of $3,000 to create her works that will be completed in time for Glen Foerd’s ArtsFest on Sept. 22.

The selection committee for the 2023-24 residency program included Billy Dufala, co-founder and creative director of RAIR; Kathleen Ogilvie Green, a trained visual artist and chief audience officer at Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton, N.J.; and Victoria Prizzia, founder of Habithèque Inc., an interpretive planning and design studio based in Pipersville.
