Editor's note:  This event has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.

The National Association for Music Education has designated March as “Music in Our Schools Month” for over 30 years.

To honor this occasion, the Reading-Fleming Intermediate School (RFIS) PTO, in coordination with the RFIS Music Department, will host a free concert featuring the Hunterdon Harmonizers Barbershop Chorus, the Whitehouse Wind Symphony and students from Reading-Fleming Intermediate School 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19. The concert will be held in the RFIS gymnasium located at 50 Court St., Flemington, N.J.

This will be the eighth time in the past 10 years that the PTO has commemorated Music in Our Schools Month with such an event.

The concert is free with open seating. All members of the community are welcome to attend; schoolchildren, with their parents, are especially invited. After the concert, young concertgoers will have the opportunity to meet with the performers and learn more about musical instruments and how music is made.

In the event of dangerous travel conditions or public health emergency, the announcement to postpone/cancel this concert will be made on the PTO Facebook page. The “snow date” for the concert is Tuesday, March 26.
