Posted

Arete Gallery will host an exclusive exhibition of “Movement at the Still Point,” a celebration of portrait photographer Mark Mann’s best-selling coffee table book, this Friday to Sunday in New Hope.

Against the backdrop of an iconic Irving Penn-inspired monochromatic muslin, Mann has skillfully crafted striking photos that encapsulate the power of movement. Starting during the depths of the Covid pandemic and spanning a nine-month period in 2021, Mann photographed over 140 of the most talented dancers from Broadway, the New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and more.

“Their impact and legacy transcend generations and disciplines, revealing the strength and beauty that emerges during times of uncertainty,” Mann said.

A celebrity and advertising photographer, Mann’s editorial work has appeared in Esquire, Men’s Health, Vibe, Spin, Fortune, Billboard, Parade and Complex, among others.

Photographs from “Movement at the Still Point” will be on display and available for purchase along with the book,

Arete Gallery is open between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. and located at 122 S. Main St.
