The Tinicum Civic Association said local artist Lauren Travis will open the Stover Mill Gallery’s 64th season in April with an exhibit of her art titled “Reflections and Visions.”

An opening reception is planned for 1-5 p.m. Saturday, April 6. The exhibit will include over 55 landscape, still life and abstract paintings by Travis, in oil and oil and cold wax.

Travis is an award-winning artist whose work focuses on the use of dramatic light to create mood in her paintings. She paints both en plein air and in her studio.

She is an active member of the art community, having been the owner and director of Travis Gallery in Solebury for over 25 years. Travis serves as a juror for local and regional art exhibits and also as a panelist on various art discussion groups in both Bucks and Montgomery counties.

Since closing her gallery in 2017, she has focused on painting and conducting fine art appraisals. Travis is a member of the International Society of Appraisers with an Accredited Member designation in the appraisal of fine art.

A preview of some of the work in the exhibit can be seen on the artist’s website, www.artappraisal-services.com.
