Building on its commitment to comprehensive care and services, Oxford Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Langhorne recently earned the American Heart Association’s (AHA’s) new Skilled Nursing Facility Heart Failure Center Certification.
Located at 300 E. Winchester Ave., Oxford provides post-hospital, short-term rehab and long-term residential care.
The world’s leading nonprofit focused on heart and brain health, the AHA has invested more than $4.8 billion in research since its founding. Evaluation criteria for its new skilled nursing certification – earned by less than 1% of skilled nursing facilities nationwide, to date – was designed by heart failure experts. Certification requirements include program management, personnel education, clinical management, care coordination and performance improvement, as well as patient and caregiver education and support.
The achievement comes on the heels of Oxford’s launch of cardiac rehabilitation services under the leadership of board-certified cardiologists Dr. Ronald Fields, and Dr. Frank Ammaturo of Comprehensive Cardiology. Oxford’s cardiac rehabilitation program focuses on promoting independence and quality of life through reducing symptoms and decreasing disability in heart patients.
Oxford Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center maintains a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The skilled nursing facility is part of the Oxford Enhanced Senior Living campus, which also includes independent living apartments as well as Oxford Crossings, a personal care component featuring a memory care unit.
