KHN hosts Artist-in-Residence Weekend

Posted

The community is invited to celebrate shabbat at Kehilat Hanahar’s Artist-in-Residence Weekend with Zach Mayer.

There will be a Musical Kabbalat Shabbat Service at 7 p.m. Friday, April 19, a Saturday Night Concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 20, and a Passover Singalong at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 21.

Mayer will lead community in meaningful and musical services, April 19, including kavanot (intentions) to help ground participants bodies and lift their spirits. All are invited as we welcome Shabbat.

On April 20, join Mayer for a trio concert of his original music, with nigunim, Jewish songs, and Hebrew chants that “uplift, delight, and heal.” True to the style of a Hasidic tisch (table gathering), the music is meant to be participatory, and all are invited to join. The program will conclude with a musical Havdalah service and reception.

Get yourself pumped up for Passover on April 21 with a fun, participatory concert weaving together songs and stories from the holiday. Families of all ages are welcome.

Mayer channels his family lineage of the four generations of cantors before him, as he helps communities around the country find their own joyous voice in song. A resident of Boston, Mass., he has over 40 million views on YouTube. Visit his website: www.zachmayermusic.com.

All events are in-person, at KHN in New Hope. Register using the link below.at: https://www.kehilathanahar.org/form/Zach%20Mayer%20AIR.
