Judith “Judie” Anne Brunner, of Pipersville, passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of February 4, 2024 following a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was a spectacular mother, grandmother, wife, sister and friend and dedicated her life to caring for others.

Born in Philadelphia to the late Cobb Bumpers and Arlene Hartkorn, Judie spent her life surrounded by a very large family, with 42 first cousins. She grew up in Southampton, PA, where she was raised by her beloved grandparents, “Grandpop,” Jacob Hartkorn and grandmother, Hazel Kulp Hartkorn.

Judie lived in Pipersville for nearly 60 years, where she raised her six children, Thomas, Frederic, Stephanie, Denise, Jessica and Mark. Not only was she known as “Mom” to her six kids, but she was “Mom” to neighbors, classmates, teammates and friends — anyone who walked through her door.

Judie had a work ethic like no other and even continued to work during her cancer treatments. She loved what she did — she loved to care for others, meet new people, contribute to her community and stay busy. She had a firecracker personality and brought laughter and companionship to dozens of people at the end of their lives as she cared for them in their homes.

To her grandchildren, she was “Granny,” and that was her favorite job of all. We’ll remember her special birthday cards full of scratchies and beautiful handwritten notes. She cherished all her kids’ accomplishments and milestones and saved memories from those moments, including first hair cuts, newspaper clippings, socks, drawings and voice mails.

She loved numerology and playing the lottery, along with photographing flowers and family, Neil Diamond, gardening, auctions and antiques. She loved going to the casino with her dearest friends, especially Connie and “Aunt Dale,” who she joins in heaven.

Her favorite holidays were Thanksgiving and Christmas and everyone loved her pineapple stuffing, mac and cheese and lasagna. We’ll always remember her spectacular Christmas trees that filled her living room.

She is survived by her husband Mark of 48 years, her six children and nineteen grandchildren. She joins three sisters, Linda, Pam and Paulette, one brother, Parvin and granddaughter, Lilijana.

Please join her family for her memorial service at 12 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2024 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown. The family will greet guests from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Please wear colorful clothing.

In lieu of flowers, please buy a lottery ticket or plant flowers in your own garden in Judie’s memory.
