Hockey notes: Golden Hawks and Rams explode

Posted

Rink goal lights may burn out when Council Rock South and Pennridge play. Each team rang up double digit goals in Week 2. Both schools, along with Central Bucks West, have either back to backs or a lone day off between games for Week 3.

Here’s the highlights from Week 2:

CR South (2-0) 16 - Souderton 2. Sixteen goals are not a typo. The Golden Hawks posted their second straight double-digit scoring effort, by hanging eight goals in the first period and another eight in the second against Soudy. Blaize Pepe, Jake Weiner and Gavin Nisenzon all had hat tricks.

Central Bucks South (1-0-1) 6 - Council Rock North (0-2) 2. The Titan DJ played a catchy tune. DJ Lindenmuth scored four goals, including one in every period, as South opened the game with six unanswered points. Dominic Varacallo turned away 18 of 20 Indian shots.

Central Bucks East 7 (2-0) - CB West (0-2) 3. Corey Kosick had a goal in every period, and four total, in East’s 7-3 rivalry win. These two schools will tangle again in two weeks in their traditional Thanksgiving Eve game. Zane Sanders scored twice for West.

Pennridge (2-0) 10 - Neshaminy 0. The high octane Rams have scored 17 goals in their first two games. Andrew Savona scored twice and recorded two apples for his second straight four-point game. Colin Dachowski and Ian Brouse had two goals apiece while Jacob Winton stopped 12 Neshaminy shots.
