Girls volleyball notes

There was a sense of deja vu in Doylestown Tuesday as the Central Bucks West girls volleyball team notched its second sweep in as many nights on its home court.

The Bucks earned a 3-0 win over Archbishop Carroll Monday and followed that up with a 3-0 shutout (25-7, 25-14, 25-16) of William Tennent in a non-league match the next day.

Against Tennent, the Bucks were paced by Rachel Hu, who had a double-double – 11 kills and 11 digs – five aces and one block. Alexis Barklage contributed eight kills and one block; Hollis Walton had three kills, two blocks, three aces and two digs; Lily Rasnake recorded two kills, two aces and one dig; Erin Ferello added 12 assists, one kill and one dig; and Elisa Kremser recorded 11 assists, one kill and one dig. The Bucks also saw contributions from Amber Woodring, who added nine digs, and Alexa Lee, who had five digs and three aces.

The Bucks play the third of four consecutive home games Thursday against Unionville.

In other Tuesday volleyball action, Abington topped Pennridge 3-2, Quakertown edged Wissahickon 3-2, New Hope-Solebury swept Central Bucks East 3-0 and Council Rock North shut out Ridley 3-0.
