At 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, the Frenchtown Bookshop will welcome Crys Matthews, who describes her inspiring topical songs as “a battle hymn for an army of lovers.”
The queer activist artist combines folk, funk, soul and jazz into powerful songs that have won the NewSong Grand Prize and the International Folk Music “Song of the Year” award. She is often compared to Toshi Reagon and Tracy Chapman, but is 100% a unique force of nature. She is coming off a world tour supporting Dar Williams.
