Frank Arcuri solo show on view at Patricia Hutton Galleries

Posted

“Frank Arcuri – A Solo Exhibition” runs until Nov. 19 at Patricia Hutton Galleries in Doylestown. The show opened with a reception on Saturday, Oct. 14.

Frank Arcuri is an internationally renowned artist best known for his still life paintings reminiscent of the 17th century Dutch Masters. His paintings, however, also possess an immediacy and freshness that speaks of today.

Arcuri is a master of the chiaroscuro method – the artful contrast between shadow and light.

“For me, his paintings give life to everyday, inanimate objects and lift them up to where we can clearly see their intrinsic beauty. It is the way the golden light washes over them that raises them to another level,” said gallery owner Patricia Hutton.

Arcuri studied at the Art Students League in New York and has exhibited internationally – in London, Hong Kong, and most notably for many years at the Eleanor Ettinger Gallery in New York City. The artist has received many awards including the Jesse B. McReynolds Memorial Award at the Salmagundi Club in New York.

He has been with the Patricia Hutton Galleries for over 10 years and this is the galleries’ fourth solo show for him.

“We are extremely happy and proud to have Frank as one of our artists and this show with over 40 paintings, most of them new work, will be our biggest and most exciting to date,” said the gallery owner just prior to the opening. “We have many loyal Arcuri collectors and they are very anxious to see the new work,” she added.

Arcuri is in collections throughout the U.S. and abroad. For information about the exhibition, call the gallery at 215-348-1728 or visit the gallery website.
