Former supervisors know what it takes

Posted

As former Solebury Township supervisors, we understand how much work it takes to effectively serve our community in that role. That is why we are excited that Kevin Morrissey is seeking another term as supervisor, because he has done a great job over the last six years. We urge Solebury residents to join us in voting for him both in the upcoming primary and in November.
Kevin has helped the board accomplish a lot during his first term. He helped to improve communication, keep residents informed of issues and make it easier for them to communicate their opinions, including the recording of meetings, something that helped the board quickly move to virtual meetings during the pandemic.

He was instrumental in establishing the Farm Committee to assist existing farmers and to encourage new farmers to come to Solebury. For years, he has been instrumental in ensuring that the state enforces the law governing the operations of New Hope Crushed Stone; laws which protect our water resources and ensure their operations did not threaten the safety of our residents. Now that NHCS has ceased operations, he has focused on making sure any future development of that property is consistent with community values. Other issues he has contributed to include deer management, the Route 202 Corridor and Land Preservation.

In all of these issues, Kevin has worked hard to understand the problem, and brought his open mind and sound judgment to finding solutions.
