“For the People Act” will hurt, not help

Posted

Regarding the writer (Chatterbox) who, week after week, along with others, touts the benefits of the U.S. House of Representatives Bill #1 – commonly called HR1 – the “For the People Act” … if this piece of legislation were truly for all the people, it wouldn’t require all of this non-stop propaganda effort to sell it to you and me and could be an honest bipartisan action.

The true problem with this bill is that it’s only beneficial to the people who are among the powerful and rich – the further down the socio-economic ladder one sits, the more hurtful the passage of this legislation will prove to be.

This, like so many laws and changes being pushed by the political party currently holding the deck in Washington … regardless of the party one is a member of – Democratic, Republican, Whig or Green – this will hurt all equally.

It allows the acceleration of the socialist push toward a two-class society … those who are part of and connected to the Washington elite or are rich enough to totally control their own destiny … and the 99% who make up the rest of the population.
If you are happy with the prospect this holds for you and your children and their children, ignore what I’ve written here.

M.R. Taylor, Doylestown
