Flemington Pickleball hosts pro camps

Posted

Flemington Pickleball Club, located at 19 Royal Road, is Hunterdon County, N.J.’s first indoor pickleball-only club.
The club’s summer schedule includes two camps hosted by top-ranked professional pickleball players.

On May 25 a Pro Pickleball Clinic will be led by Catherine Parenteau, who recently won two gold medals at the US Open Pickleball Championships. She is currently ranked in the top 3 in the world in women’s singles and women’s doubles. She teaches alongside her professional coach and manager Athena Trouillot. Both Parenteau and Trouillot were top tennis players in college before being introduced to pickleball a few years ago by a college coach.

On June 11 and 12, the current No. 1 and No. 3 players in the world, brothers Ben and Collin Johns will conduct a Pro Camp in Flemington. Ben Johns won four gold medals at the U.S. Open in April, including a gold medal in doubles with brother Collin. Ben Johns is a professional pickleball player and a student at the University of Maryland. Since 2017, the 20-year-old has quickly risen to the top of the sport, including signing a recent endorsement deal and the launch of a signature paddle from Franklin pickleball. Collin Johns, ranked No. 3 in the world, is a former professional tennis player, who now teaches and plays pickleball professionally.
