Film screening, discussion on French food culture slated in Lambertville

Posted

Join the ACME Screening Room on Saturday, March 16 at 4:15 p.m. for a special event centered around Frances’s entry for Best International Film at the 2024 Academy Awards, “The Taste of Things.”

A pre-screening lobby reception will be followed by the film, and then a discussion with Gary Lee Kraut, editor of France Revisited web magazine.

Kraut is a dual American and French citizen, having grown up local to the Trenton, N.J., area. He is specialized in travel, culture and touring in France and is the author of five travel guides in addition to many articles, essays and short stories of travel abroad. For the discussion, Kraut will speak about food culture in France, both the cliché and the reality, and about his recent research into “bistro life” in Paris. He’ll whet our appetite for travel to France with stories about the owners, chefs and patrons of the dwindling yet living institution that is the old-fashion neighborhood bistro.

A post-screening dinner option is available to join Kraut at Anton’s at the Swan in Lambertville.

The ACME Screening Room is located at 25 S. Union St., Lambertville.
