Evan Harrington “From the Air” solo exhibition to open at the Silverman Gallery

Posted

Award-winning Bucks County native, artist Evan Harrington, opens his solo exhibition – “From the Air” – this weekend at the Silverman Gallery of Bucks County Impressionist Art.

Join the artist for his opening receptions, taking place Saturday, Nov. 4 from 5-8 p.m. and again, the following weekend, on Sunday, Nov. 12 from 1-4 p.m. The exhibition continues through Dec. 3.

Evan’s work is meticulously planned and considered. He will often have several paintings in progress at one time, giving them time to come to fruition. “Consistently inspired by the beauty of Bucks County, I created this collection of paintings as a journal of sorts, to document the variety of spectacular local scenes that I have come across in different seasons and times of day. Emphasizing color, light, and design, I aim to share the excitement and impact these moments have had on me.”

Following in the tradition of the Bucks County artists who have come before him, Evan was also encouraged by his parents, Glenn and Chris Harrington. He showed talent early on and it was further developed in his father’s Pipersville studio, then studying at the Pennsylvania Academy of Art, and by classes with artists such as Frank Arcuri. Aside from his mastery of painting, Evan is a talented carpenter and a professional pilot.

“Sometimes there is a painting that immediately grabs hold of your emotions and connects with you personally on every level as you walk by. This happens in a flash – an immediate bond as the artist’s work ‘speaks’ to you. That happened to me in the Silverman Gallery viewing one of Evan Harrington’s earlier collections. Evan is one of my favorite artists,” stated Bucks County resident, Victoria. “His subjects . . . the use of color and light, come from sheer talent. His paintings are placed strategically in our home where they are viewed and enjoyed every day.”

The Silverman Gallery is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 215-794-4300 for information. The gallery is located in Buckingham Green, 4920 York Road (Route 202) in Holicong, just south of Peddler’s Village.
