Upper Makefield Police Department posted the following statement on its Facebook page today:

“This morning, a little after 8 a.m., we, along with fire and medic crews responded to the 2800 block of Windy Bush Road (Rt. 232) for a report of an overturned fuel truck.

"Upon arrival, officers found that the driver had been ejected and was seriously injured. The driver was subsequently transported to St. Mary Medical Center.

“The fuel truck is leaking and Windy Bush Road between Round Hill and Pine Lane will be closed for most of the day. Please plan accordingly and as always, we will update you when the road is reopened. Our department will be conducting the reconstruction of the accident and will be on scene as well.

“At this time, our thoughts and prayers are with the driver and his family as we hope they make a full recovery.”
