Desis of Doylestown slates Garba fundraiser

Posted

Desis of Doylestown, a nonprofit organization for social change, hosts a Garba, a form of Gujarati dance, traditionally performed during the nine-day Indian festival of Navaratri.

This dance is all about celebration of togetherness and joy. The community is invited to join in for the Garba fundraiser from 6:30-9 p.m. Friday, at the Rainbow Room of Salem Church in Doylestown – you don’t need to be Indian to enjoy this cultural experience. There will be food and drinks for purchase. The entry fee is $10 per person.

Desis of Doylestown members are inclusive of those who live throughout Bucks and Montgomery counties. A Desi is a person of Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, and Nepali descent. The Desi of Doylestown community hosts events throughout the year to raise awareness of Desi culture, bring together Desis in the community, and share the joy of their cultural events with our community at large.

For advance tickets and information, visit the events page of Desisofdoylestown.org.
