Delaware Valley Wind Symphony plays John Williams music

Posted

The Delaware Valley Wind Symphony will hold a concert featuring the iconic music of John Williams at 4 p.m. Sunday at Holland Middle School in Northampton Township.

The lineup of pieces includes music from “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,” and the “Star Wars” and “Harry Potter” movies.

Williams is the most successful film composer in the history of film making, winning five Oscars, four Golden Globes, seven British Academy Film Awards and 26 Grammy Awards. With 54 Oscar nominations, he is second only to Walt Disney as most nominated person ever.

Steven Speilberg once said of him, “Without John Williams, bikes don’t really fly, nor do brooms in Quidditch matches, nor do men in red capes. There is no Force, dinosaurs do not walk the Earth, we do not wonder, we do not weep, we do not believe.”

A reception follows the concert. Tickets are available at the door for $15. Children and students attend for free.
