Community invited to celebrate 150th anniversary of Knecht Covered Bridge

The Palisades Community Foundation (PCF) invites you to a free concert on The Knecht Bridge from 3:30 to 5 p.m April 20.

The Palisades High School Band will perform “The Red Covered Bridge’” by Robert Sheldon at the Knecht’s Bridge on Slifer Valley Road in Springfield Township, featuring Dr. Scott Watson, who will conduct this original score. The performance begins at 4:15 p.m.

A Reception Celebration will take place at Historic Kirkland Farm, 2510 Old Bethlehem Road, Springtown, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. April 20. Tickets are $50 each at palisadescommunityfoundation.com.

All proceeds support The Palisades Community Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the education, cultural enrichment and wellness of the youth and community of the six municipalities that comprise the Palisades School District: Bridgeton, Durham, Nockamixon, Springfield, Tinicum, and the Borough of Riegelsville.

In the event of rain, the concert will be held at 4 p.m. in the Palisades High School Auditorium located at 35 Church Hill Road, Kintnersville.
