Cocktails at the Castle: Mercer Museum’s fundraiser returns

Posted

The Mercer Museum’s annual major fundraiser, Cocktails at the Castle, returns to Doylestown, from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, for a night of culinary delights and tasty cocktails all for a great cause.

The annual tradition supports the Mercer Museum’s year-round education programs, exhibitions, and community initiatives. The Mercer Museum is operated by the Bucks County Historical Society.

Guests can enjoy an evening on the grounds of the Mercer Museum with specialties from a wide array of Bucks County culinary purveyors, along with one-of-a-kind craft cocktail creations, a dessert lounge, and entertainment throughout the night.

The evening kicks off with the Pine Street Stroll cocktail hour, where guests can enjoy pedestrian-only access to a party on Pine Street in the heart of Doylestown’s Cultural District, as well as in the historic quad on the grounds of the Mercer Museum.

Guests can take in views of the museum and the historic Log House, all while enjoying music by D.J. Jenny B. of Mo Better Entertainment. Guests can also enjoy the special ambiance of the outdoor fire pits while sampling a selection of food offerings from area restaurants.

After cocktail hour, local restaurant and catering partners serve carefully curated specialty dishes to guests both inside and outside of the Mercer Museum.

This year’s current list of culinary partners includes Anna P. Catering, Chambers 19 Bistro & Bar, Cross Culture Indian Restaurant, Doan Distillery, Doylestown Café, Empanada Mama and Nourish by Mama, Jeffrey A. Miller Catering, Le Macaron French Pastries, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Omiza Restaurant, PA Soup and Seafood, Pierre’s Chocolates, Quinoa Peruvian & Mexican Restaurant, Simply Fresh by McCaffrey’s, Sky Roast Coffee, Station Tap House, Sweet Victory Gluten & Dairy Free Treats, and Wycombe Valley Vineyards, with more to come.

Guests can continue to dance the night away to Philadelphia band Where’s Pete and cap off the evening with creations in the upscale dessert lounge located in the indoor/outdoor tent outside of the Mercer Museum’s Great Hall.

“We are thrilled to invite the community to another wonderful Cocktails at the Castle fundraising event this year,” said Bucks County Historical Society Chief Executive Officer Kyle McKoy.

“Many of the area’s favorite restaurants share their culinary creations with our guests, and we always have exciting new additions as well. Our exceptional historic setting makes it a night to remember, and it supports our year-round work at the Mercer Museum.”

Tickets to Cocktails at the Castle are $250 for General Admission and $200 for Bucks County Historical Society Members.

In addition to the event, an important fundraising component of Cocktails at the Castle is an online silent auction featuring one-of-a-kind experiences and unique packages. Auction participants do not need to purchase tickets or attend the Cocktails at the Castle event, and all bidding is done virtually.
