Second Baptist Church of Doylestown’s Christ and Cultural Humility group and Doylestown Presbyterian Church’s Matthew 25 Task Force invite the community to celebrate Bucks County African American History during a joint luncheon at Second Baptist, 6055 Swamp Road, Fountainville, from noon to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10.

Hear guest speakers discuss the impact of African Americans and friends in this area, enjoy music from Second Baptist’s The Back Bench Boys, and share a meal together.

Local author Patricia Mervine will explore “Slavery, Friends, and Freedom in Bucks County.” Roger Brown, of the African American Museum of Bucks County, will focus on “The Faith Community Influence on Bucks County African American History.”

The cost is $15 per person, free for children 10 and under, and $40 for a family of three or more people over age 10. Proceeds will be donated to support the new home of the AAMBC. RSVP by Feb. 3, at bit.ly/SBCDPC or via the link at sbcod.org.
