Centennial School District has been selected to receive the 2023 Richard B. Lewis Award from the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) and the Technology Integrated Learning Division of AECT.

The award recognizes outstanding technology integration and media utilization programs in K-12 education. As a recipient of the 2023 Richard B. Lewis Award, Centennial School District will receive a cash award and a commemorative plaque acknowledging the district’s outstanding achievement in the field of educational technology and media utilization. The official presentation of the award will take place during the AECT annual convention.

The AECT Richard B. Lewis Memorial Award, established in 1981, is presented annually to a school or educational system, whether public or private, that demonstrates exceptional dedication to advancing technology integration and media utilization within its educational practices. Richard B. Lewis, the award’s namesake, was a visionary leader in audiovisual instruction and innovative teaching methodologies.

Centennial School District was selected for its systemic adoption and increased utilization of its learning management system, Canvas. The team, spearheaded by the digital and online learning coordinator, Kristen Herman, significantly expanded students’ post-pandemic, online and digital learning opportunities.
