Ascension Lutheran Church will host its annual Blessing of the Animals service at noon Sunday, at 900 Washington Crossing Road, Newtown.
Held in conjunction with the birthday of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals, this event honors furry friends. Leashed dogs, cats, or any other domestic animals are welcome.
If your companion doesn’t travel well or has passed away, you may bring their photo to receive a blessing.
The service will take place outdoors, weather permitting. In the event of rain, it will be held inside the church.
Everyone is welcome. The event is free.
