Benjamin Parry’s 267th birthday celebrated in New Hope

Posted

The 267th birthday of Benjamin Parry, known as “The father of New Hope,” was recently celebrated at the Parry Mansion Museum with a walking tour that traced Parry’s life.

It was followed by a champagne reception at the museum where New Hope historian Roy Zeigler described the life of Parry. A highlight of the celebration was the 200-year-old grandfather clock belonging to Parry, which was recovered and restored to its original location in the Parry Mansion after it was removed over six decades ago.
