AOY Art Center celebrates its 12th annual Juried Show, announces winners

Posted

AOY Art Center announced the winners of its 12th annual Juried Show during opening night at the historic Janney House April 12.

The event drew a crowd of supporters, family, friends, and art enthusiasts, all eager to be among the first to experience the new exhibition, which runs through May 5, at 949 Mirror Lake Road, Yardley (Lower Makefield Township).

Those gathered witnessed a double rainbow that arched over the surrounding farmland, just prior to the formal proceedings. As attendees mingled and admired the artwork, they enjoyed wine and light fare.

On behalf of the exhibition juror, Leah Triplett Harrington, Bette Sovinee, executive director of AOY Art Center, read Harrington’s compliments to all the artists:

“Congrats to everyone who submitted to the 12th annual juried show, I was so impressed with the incredible breadth and depth of strength of submissions. My selections were works that had powerful colors, composition, and vibrant subjects or themes speaking to the season of spring and renewal. These works are of a range of styles and media, but all demonstrate a vitality of material and method.”
