Talk on Vocal Ministry in Quaker Meeting slated

Actor and author Benjamin Lloyd will speak on Vocal Ministry in Quaker Meeting at the Newtown Quaker Meetinghouse, 219 Court St., at 9:45 a.m. Sunday, March 10.

Following the presentation, there will be worship in the manner of Friends at 11 a.m. with people speaking out of silence as they are moved to do so. The public is welcome at all events.(newtownfriendsmeeting.org).

Lloyd, who runs bxlloyd consulting, a learning and development practice that uses the power of play and applied improvisation to support extraordinary companies, nonprofits, and communities, describes his presentation as an interactive session meant to help all participants discern what the impetus toward vocal ministry feels like in them.

“Since this experience is fundamentally personal, no effort will be made to teach what this experience ‘should’ feel like. Nor will any attention be paid to the content of vocal ministry,” he said.
