Louise Susan Shorrock

Posted

Louise Susan Shorrock, of Doylestown, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024 surrounded by her children and her loving companion of over 30 years, John Stiglic. She was 74.

Born in Philadelphia, Louise was a 1967 graduate of Central Bucks High School where she could be found twirling the baton as a majorette. She then attended Lankenau Nursing School which propelled her nursing career, of over 40 years, where she impacted countless lives at Merck and Company and Doylestown Hospital.

Louise was predeceased in death by her father, Arthur Shorrock. She is survived by her mother, Jeanne Shorrock of Vero Beach, FL, John Stiglic of Doylestown, as well as her children Rex Felton (Brandi) of Holden Beach, NC, Scott Felton (Stephanie) of Harleysville, Christopher Felton (Amanda) of Chalfont, and Tara Garcia (Henry) of Flower Mound, TX. Louise is also survived by her ten grandchildren Kathryn, Jacob, Miles, Grace, Emma, Piper, Anna, Luke, Nolan and Charlotte, and her brothers Arthur and Stephen Shorrock.

Louise was intelligent, compassionate, and loyal. She knew what was important, and in tough times, she was there with strong advice, guidance, and love. In her younger years, she enjoyed coaching her children’s Little League sports, and could always be found cheering them on from the sidelines through their countless athletic endeavors. A diehard Philadelphia sports fan, and an Eagles season ticket holder for half a century, Louise rarely missed an opportunity to root for her beloved Birds. A lover of the outdoors, Louise was most content when camping, fishing, and boating, especially on the eastern shore of Virginia with John, and her dogs, by her side.

Louise was a loving and inspirational mother whose greatest accomplishment was the dedication she showed in raising her four children. A wonderful cook, she was known for her legendary holiday meals. Louise was always a generous gift giver, but her greatest gift was the love and devotion she instilled in her children.

A heartfelt thank you to the dedicated doctors, nurses and staff on the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Sunday, January 28th at Aldie Mansion in Doylestown. Family will receive guests at 2:00 pm with services beginning at 2:45 pm. Light refreshments will follow.
