Athena Strategies President Kathy Boockvar was honored last week with the Distinguished Alumni Award from the American University Washington College of Law.
The Washington College of Law Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes a member of the alumni community for their exceptional professional and personal achievements, extraordinary distinction in their chosen field and demonstrated commitment to the betterment of the law school.
In the award presentation, WCL Constitutional Law Professor Steve Wermiel extolled Boockvar’s decades of impact, including her service as Pennsylvania secretary of state and her work to strengthen security, transparency, and accessibility during the 2020 elections, amidst the global pandemic.
Wermiel emphasized that Boockvar’s “impactful contributions have left an indelible mark on our nation’s electoral processes and the fabric of our democracy,” and commended her past and present “unparalleled dedication, leadership, and expertise in the realms of election security, democracy, government administration, and nonprofit management.”
