Harvey and Maddy Rovinsky, the former owners of Bernie Robbins Jewelers – a family-owned business for 63 years – presented a giant gold-toned key to the new owners, Sandra Moran, Andy Lazar, Stephen Berman, Gen Flaxman and Steve Jaffe, May 6.
All five were longtime employees to whom the Rovinskys gave their jewelry company – debt-free.
“Who would have imagined I’d be a partner at Bernie Robbins! The fact that I’ve been here so long (we all have) and that we, like any family, have been entrusted to carry on the legacy, is an honor and a privilege!” Lazar said.
Bernie Robbins Jewelers is located in Newtown and Sommers Point, N.J. The Rovinskys’ decision to gift the stores to their employees of 20 to 30 years was made public last November.
