WALTER KOMARNICKI

Posted

Walter Komarnicki, of Doylestown, passed away on Feb. 2, 2021. He was 86 years old.

Walt was born on July 16, 1934, in Bristol, PA to John J. & Katherine (nee Matkowski) Komarnicki and grew up on a farm in Lower Bucks County, PA. He enjoyed hunting and fishing along with gardening. In his early 20’s he built “The Rendezvous Bar” located on Route 202, New Hope, PA. The bar was well known for the best cheesesteak in town along with great music on Friday & Saturday nights. He was the owner until 1980 when he decided to retire from the restaurant business. Walter also had experience in stone masonry work, worked part time for a land surveyor, then later on he took on a part time job at “True Value Hardware”. Because he loved the outdoors in the summer months, tinkering in his garden and cutting his grass, he started his own lawn care business which he did up until his early 80’s. Our father was a jolly man, he always had a joke to tell or a story from his past life on the farm. He was a simple man with little needs who loved his family and his dog, Kasha, most of all.

Family and friends are invited to Walt’s Life Celebration, Monday June 7th, from 10-11am, at Leaver/Cable of Buckingham, 4886 York Rd., and to participate in his Funeral Service at 11am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Diabetes Assn of the American Heart Assn would be appreciated.
